I'm slacking. Big time. Get ready for a photo dump of Miles over the last three months!

Miles is so messy at school he goes through his "extra" clothes very quickly. Daycare sent him home in this girly sweater.

Unseasonably warm Spring calls for lots of park time!

So lucky to have friends with little boys so close in age (Cam 20 months, Miles 17 months, Mason 19 months)

Miles 16 months

Jan/Feb was a very eventful time at the Mirocha house. Miles got hand foot and mouth and was home for a week recovering. Ten of the eleven babies in his infant room contracted this terribly contagious disease. I also ended up getting a case of it (albeit a very, very mild case...but still). Miles transitioned from the infant room to the toddler room and he'll now be sleeping on a cot vs. in a crib. Luckily for him, he's allowed to have a lovey, blanket and paci so he has actually been doing surprisingly really well with this huge transition. His new classroom is in a corner of the building and overlooks the playground and sidewalk so he'll be able to look outside all day long at trucks, cars, puppies and other kids playing outside. Miles has been in to coloring lately. He will point at the dining room table - where his paper and crayons are - and will say "color?" several times a day. At the end of each week we bring his snow gear home from school and leave it by the front door. Often times Miles will walk over to the bag, pull out his snowpants and walk them over to me or Dan for us to put them on him. Once they are on, he will walk back over to the bag and pull out his puffy coat and bring it over and we'll put it on him (even though we're not going outside). Miles continues to say more words and talk more often. He loves reading, tackling Dada and playing with his golf clubs.

Miles 15-months

15-month stats:
Weight: 22lbs 12oz (24%)
Height: 30 1/14" (23%)
Head: 47cm (44%)

Christmas came and went all too quickly this year. Mark, Lydia, Jack and Audrey came home for five days and we got to spend Christmas Eve and Christmas morning with them. It is so fun to watch Miles and his cousins interact with each other!  The toddlers all got haircuts from Kathy and Joe's neighbor. It was Miles' first haircut and he did great -- he looks like such a big boy now!  We were able to get outside and go sledding together on Christmas Eve. The kids didn't love it at first but I think it grew on them....sorta. We spent Christmas day at my mom and dad's. Callie and Nick brought their (devil) dog, Louis, so Miles of course loved that! Miles just loves trying to do whatever JJ and Nolan do. He loves "tackling" them and climbing on them. Dan and I were both home the week after Christmas and we kept Miles in school all those days except one when we took him to the Children's Museum. The other days Dan and I got to hang out just the two of us and go out for lunch a few times and just have some good ol' quality time together. I also got to lay on the couch and take naps during the day which was incredible :)

Miles continues to "talk" and jibber-jabber a ton. When he wants to go to the basement he will say "golf club" because that's where his golf club is. The other night I was putting him down and he had his lovey in one hand and a golf ball in the other. Dead serious. His big milestone this past month was learning to eat with a spoon and fork.
Bug has been sleeping like a rockstar at night; usually from 6:15pm-7:30am. He takes one nap around noon/1pm and sleeps for maybe an hour at school but on weekends when he's home with us he sleeps 1.5-2 hours. Mama and daddy like to nap during that time, too.

Miles - 14 months

What a month we've had!  Miles is "talking" so much the last month. What amazes me the most is how smart toddlers are at this age -- much smarter than we think they are or give them credit.  He nods his head yes or shakes it no when we ask him questions. "Do you want to go downstairs and play?"  "Do you want to read this book?"  After dinner when it's bath time we'll say "It's time for bath!" and he'll drop whatever he's doing and 'run' to the bathroom. He knows where his belly, nose and eyes are and can tell you what a lion and cow say. He understands when he want to go down stairs he needs to go on his belly and slide down. He can consistently blow kisses and somewhat enjoys brushing his teeth after bath while we get him in his jammies. This is obviously a huge win because everyone who knows me well knows how important dental hygiene is to me! Miles is obsessed with books (finally!).  He loves sitting in our laps and pointing and "talking" to each page. He's not much of a cuddle bug so I love reading books with him. We visited Santa this year and it was everything I had hoped it would be -- Miles enjoyed walking through Santa's toy land and he HATED Santa and we got the most epic photo to cherish forever (see below).

Sleep: Bug has officially transitioned to one nap a day in the last month or so. He usually goes down around noon and will sleep for 1-2 hours (less if he's at school and more when he's at home). He goes down every night around 6pm and wakes up around 7:30am.

Food: We are DONE with bottles!!! WOOHOO! This is by far one of the top five milestones of Miles' life (walking, crawling, eating solids, rolling over are the other four in my opinion). The clean, clutter-less (for the most part) counter-top is so amazing!  Makes me feel like our kitchen is twice as big. Miles' current favorite foods are still bananas, waffles, PB&J, veggie patty's and Mimi's beans. It's hit or miss with avocado, sweet potato, zucchini and carrots. Oh, and mac & cheese. Lord help me, I hope he learns to like M&C and other pastas or we're screwed. Luckily he gets a wide variety of foods at his school so I don't feel AS guilty giving him roughly the same things every night.

Words: mama, dada, puppy (he sounds French and over-emphasizes the EE sound (pup-EEEE), car, truck, tractor, please (sounds like peas and it's the cutest sound you've ever heard), duck, ball, papa and hi. He LOVES saying hi. The other morning when he woke up he said "hiiiii" in his crib before we even went in to his room. He says "uh-oh" ALL the time and he makes the cutest little O with his mouth and over-exaggerates the sound. My heart melts just thinking of it.
